For audio visual production we often need to use BPMs where the number of Frames per Beat is a whole number. Thus we can make clips with a specific number of video frames, and they will run at a pre-determined BPM that we can dial into our music production software / VJamm MIDI sequencer.
Here are the more commonly used whole frame BPM's in PAL:
If you really need to work at a BPM that doesn't fit neatly with your FPS you can use one of these techniques:
1. Make your composition fully MIDI sequenced into VJamm and switch VJamm loop off, so that the sequencer makes all the loop timings and deals with the BPM entirely.
2. You can make clips at odd FPSs to hit lots more BPMs - this is quite experimental.
3. Use VJamm's BPM function to re-pitch your clips to your desired BPM.
