The MIDI Assignment Window
|
|
This window is used for assigning your MIDI controls to the various controls in VJamm Blueprint.
Note: You need to have selected a MIDI input device and enabled MIDI in the Configuration - MIDI Panel when you started VJamm Blueprint.
Nearly everything in Vjamm Blueprint can be MIDI controlled. There are also some options which are only avaiable though MIDI assgnment.
On the left side of this window is a tree which lists all the current controls available for MIDI assignment.
To assign a MIDI control, browse the tree, and select a control. Depending on the type of control, you will have access to ether a MIDI controller number or a MIDI note drop-down list.
You can either manually select the channel and controller/note (using the drop-down lists) or click the
'Learn from MIDI' button to tell the software to detect the MIDI signal. Having clicked 'Learn from MIDI',
move the MIDI control (or press the MIDI key) on your device, and VJamm Blueprint will automatically detect and assign it.
Note: If you are not sure whether MIDI is being recieved, look at the MIDI indicator on the main window while moving controls or pressing keys on your device.
The 'Unassign Control' button is self-explanatory.
TIP: You can assign a single MIDI controller to multiple items in the tree to create complex effects. For instance you could control the level in the mixer and the size of an object with the same control.
You can assign a total of 24 MIDI controls for use as 'FreeFrame' MIDI Controllers. (see Parameter Window - FreeFrame Panel for more details).
